Fatshionable Friends

Good morning everyone!
So I have been reading loads of blogs this week. I've really missed being involved and seeing everyone so it has been really nice to be back to blogging and seeing more of you. I just wanted to share some of my favourite outfits from the past little while - be sure to check out everyone's blog too, because they are all amazing!
I love Bonjour Gazel's legging and leather jacket - and she is Canadian - Happy early Canada Day!

How cute is Rachele from The Nearsighted Owl? If you haven't read her blog, she is the queen of vintage chic, an amazing inspiration, and has the cutest collection of cats I have ever seen!

Bethany, from My Arched Eyebrow, is wearing the most wicked gold jacket and her Fat Bitch necklace is wicked! I will be posting an outfit inspired by this lovely lady in the next day or two! :)

This is my good friend Gaëlle who writes The Curvy and Curly Closet. I was in love with this dress when I first saw it but it looks even better on Gaëlle! She is making waves in plus size fashion all over the world! Miss you!

Pop a link to your blog in the comments so I can get to know more of you!

OOTD: Anchors Away in Whitstable!

Hello everyone!
So today, I spent the day with my my fiancé, and Kent honey, Steven, out in Whitstable, which is a lovely little seaside town not far from Canterbury.

Whitstable was so lovely, and had everything you would expect, from boats to churches and fancy looking buildings. Nets, and fishy things and even a fisherman were all over the place. We had a lovely lunch at a local cafe, and I had this amazing apple and rhubarb juice - delish!

I wore my new anchor dress from Target in the USA that I got while back home a couple of months ago. I love it because its light and fresh, which in the muggy weather we had today was just right.

Anchors print everywhere!
Forgive my squinted eyes, but I had forgotten my sunglasses and despite a grey sky, it was still quite bright. I also wore a little pair of Primark black flats with mint green shoe clips made by my best friend Sarah. I will do a follow-up post on her creations, but if you are interested feel free to pop me an email for more info. I can switch bows and colours in seconds so its great if you have a favourite pair of flats. My bag is a Lush exclusive canvas tote, that can be acquired if you ever visit the flagship shop in Poole. It has a picture of the first Lush shop on the front that still exists.

Have you been to Whitstable? Where should we go next?
See you all soon!

Skin Deep - Soft to the touch...

When I was younger, I didn't wear much makeup, washed my face with soap and water and used whatever creams were lying around the house. I wasn't fussy, despite struggling with eczema, having the usual spots on my chin and very sensitive skin. It wasn't until I started at working at Lush, that I really started to care what I was putting on my skin. I don't think many people realise that the lovely sales assistants in all Lush shops are trained on skin, hair and how ingredients work, so when you ask them a question about what you need for your skin, they should know and understand what is best or find out for you. I have loved learning all about ingredients and so want to share some of my favourite things with you!

This will be a weekly post, so if you have a question about your skin or something you have tried, Lush or not, send me your question and I will post your question with a response. I'm really interested in cosmetics, skin and everything surrounding it so let me help you :) You can comment below to send me questions or email me directly, and I will include a couple of questions a week with answers and suggestions. For this week, I am going to share my favourite three body products from Lush that I use almost everyday.
Lush skin

My top three body products from Lush are Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion, Ro's Argan Body Conditioner and King of Skin Body Butter. I chose these three because they all have special qualities and can be used  by everyone. I also use them everyday and just can't get enough of them!

Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion- I use this cream everywhere during the summer (even on my face) and anytime it's humid. It smells like a vanilla milkshake, is a light smooth texture and is full of lovely kiwi fruit which  has an enzyme that helps dissolve dead skin, thereby keeping your lovely fresh and vibrant skin soft and lookin' good.

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner - This is just like a hair conditioner, so you put it on while in the shower and leave it on while you do other showery things. After a couple of minutes, you just gently rinse away any excess, hop out of the shower and pat yourself dry. You will feel so soft, smell like Rose Jam, and as an extra tip, this makes an amazing after leg shave product. I can't get enough of this smell - if you are near a Lush shop, go in and have a smell and test it out.

King of Skin Body Butter - This body butter is amazing, I use it everyday, even if I have already used other moisturisers because I just can't get enough of it. This bar can be used on wet skin in the shower or when you are dry. It has cocoa butter, shea butter, extra virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba oil, almond oil, avocados and fresh bananas. If it's good enough to eat, it's good enough to put on your skin - seriously try this! :)

So there you have it, the beginning of what I hope is something you can help me with! Pop me your questions in the comments below or by email toodalookatie @ gmail.com !
I can't wait to hear from you all!

Feeling Fancy in Second Hand

Hello my lovelies!

So whilst out enjoying the rare bit of sun we have had over the last couple of months, I came across a retro section in a charity shop not far from my house. (For my North American friends, a charity shop is a second hand shop). I wasn't sure how I would look in either of the pieces I bought but I was pleasantly surprised. Excuse the somewhat crap photos, but I think it gets across the look all the same.
The first one is this floral dress, to which I have added a belt as the waist is a bit big. I like it because the buttons do up nicely over my bust, which is a rarity. I think I may think about getting the sleeve taken up a bit but other than that I love it.

The second dress was a sort of 60s style slip dress. It's made of a pretty thick material and has this cute little belt with green vinyl material on the flip-side. I'm less in love with this one, only because it is a bit too big and my waist doesn't quite sit at the right spot for the belt. Nevertheless, I do love the colour.

Back in Canada, I loved a good trip to Value Village (or VVs Boutique for those more familiar :)) but in the UK charity shops are generally very small so the option of wasting hours browsing is not there. I'm so glad I found a little something special in my size!

The Return!

Hello my lovelies!
Image
I know I haven't been much of a blogger over the past 8 months, but when I look back on that time, I have been on the move so many times, have barely unpacked my wardrobe or accessories and have spent more time working than anything else. I can't imagine having actually written or taken photos for all of you that would have been worth being up here.
Now that things are working smoothly, or as smooth as they will, I want to get back to blogging. I want my blog to be more of me, so I am going to not only post outfits photos, but also jump into beauty, accessories and a few other areas of my life that I love, like tattoos, and even baking!
Quick update: I chopped off all my hair, change the colour every month or so, have a new tattoo (which I'll share with you later) and am working full time at Lush in Canterbury!
I have a couple of posts already lined up that will be going up today and throughout the week so look out for those. Thanks for always being there even when I'm not on here! I'll also see you all over on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr too!
