On the move - Becoming a Stylish Boater!

Good morning!
So for those of you who haven't heard through the grapevine, my fiance,Steve and I are moving out of our warehouse room  and on to a 40ft canal boat (still in London). I am so excited to get everything moved on and get settled. We have spent the last week painting, tidying and preparing for the move so getting it finished will be so great. Stay tuned for before and after posts about the boat - I will share everything with you.

After my first session taking the boat out on the water, going through the locks and generally learning all the ropes, it occurred to me that a lot of my fashion choices are going to have to be well thought out for days when we move the boat to a new spot or do work on it. I can't be prancing around in long skirts and all that for fear of tripping into the canal, so those outfits will remain for at work only.
I've made up a wishlist of things that I think will help transition my wardrobe into being more outdoor friendly and boat friendly. I have made my list up using the Simply Be website because I love how easy it is to find everything I want and need in one place.

First up - skirt and legging combos - I love this because it's cute and you never have to worry about one half riding up while the other slips down, and you get all the cuteness of a skirt with the practicality of warm leggings. Joe Browns has two at the moment for Simply Be.

Next up is this amazing festival Mac from Alice and You. Not only is it practical because no rain will get in, but it has a hood and doesn't hide any cute outfits underneath! I can see myself putting along in the rain on the boat, dry as a bone and not worrying about wind or breezes getting in.

Living on a boat is going to mean a commitment to warm clothing and sweaters, which is fine by me. I love this cocoon waterfall cardigan because I can wear loose over other things or belt it to make it more office chic.

Last of all are these leather lace up boots from Joe Browns. They are wide calf, which is like a dream come true and will be great for maneuvering up and down the ladders and such when opening and closing the locks.

I can't wait for our adventure to officially start and to make the boat home. I will be sharing plenty of photos very soon of what we worked on and how it looks now.
Have you ever lived somewhere unusual? Tell me about it!

Kelly Osbourne Wants Fashion To Be Fair!

Morning!
I feel like all I do is write about Kelly Osbourne sometimes, but she is  my fashion idol and that's a good enough reason in itself. Yesterday, however, there was another amazing reason, as Kelly has just let the cat out of the bag that she will be launching her #storiesbyKO fashion line this September (next month!). I feel like it has been forever in the making and not only is she doing a line but it will be available from sizes 0-24 which feels like a massive leap in the right direction. For once this isn't about having a plus size line, but rather a line for all. ( I realise that not all women stop at a 24, and don't want anyone to feel left out, however this does feel like a big step forward considering how designer lines generally work.
Here are a couple of the pictures taken from the #storiesbyKO Facebook page. I think the line looks gorgeous and can't wait to see more!

According to Kelly's Facebook this will be sold through HSN which is like a shopping network.
Thank you Kelly for bringing the plus size girls out of the shadows with this announcement! I haven't felt excitement like this about a line since Beth Ditto did hers with Evans (although my excitement this time around is a 1000 times more, as I trust that this will be done right).

George at Asda - Something for the end of Summer!

Good morning lovelies!
So I wanted to share with you a little extra following on from my post yesterday. After I took my photos in my swim suit, I wanted something comfy and cute to wear around, and I had just the thing with this leopard print jumpsuit from George at Asda*. I will admit that jumpsuits have never been my go to outfit, but this one has changed my tune. Not only is it soft and comfortable, it's also a full length, but I have rolled it up here so it has a capris length (it kind of gives it a land girl look). It has a nice elastic at the waist which helps to keep it all up and looking lovely, and a cute little tie. I think it could easily be dressed up with heels and a blazer, which makes it so handy!

Here I am showing you the fancy elastic waist and tie:

This is a size 24, but I would consider it true to size in that I definitely could have done with a size 20 as I have a lot of space. If you haven't check out George at  Asda go right now - you will not be disappointed. They have plenty of jumpsuits, all under £20 and loads of other on trend items.

French Curves: Beach Party!

Hello!
So this month, the French Curves challenge is Beach Party! We all had to get our swimsuits out and feature them on our blogs. Sadly I didn't get close to a beach, but as I just found out that I am moving on to a narrowboat in London, I thought it would be fun to use that setting for my photos.

Bonjour!

Summer Update - What I Have Been Up To!

Hello!
I hope you are all enjoying the summer weather - even if it is muggy and, dare I say it, too hot at times. I have had such a busy time over the last month or so which explains the silence on my little corner of the internet here. I have been so lucky to have my best friend, Sarah and her family here in London from Toronto for the last two weeks - and now that they have left, there is a void.

Visiting London like a tourist with them really made me realize how little I have seen of London. Yes, I live here and I know lots of great spots to go, where to eat etc. but seeing London for the city that it is, is not something I have ever really done. When I arrived over 4 years ago, I was alone and had priorities of finding a flat and a job before anything else, so my touristing got put on hold. With my time in London becoming less permanent, with my plans to return home to Canada once Steven's paperwork comes through, this visit has made me kick back into gear and I have exploring on the brain.

Nude cold Brew Coffee (Spitalfields), Duck walking in Hyde Park, Princess Diana Memorial in Hyde Park,

This means exciting things for my little blog as I would like to share all my new adventures with you! I used to write a travel blog a couple of years ago, and I loved writing about all the things I was doing, so from now on I am going to aim to share my new experiences with you.

I'm bringing my love of travel back and will be sharing photos from both old trips and new! I hope this is a chance for me to begin telling stories again but also an excuse and motivation to get out there and do more.
If you have any suggestions of must see places in London or in your city, leave me a comment!
