Hello!
So a couple of weeks ago, my gorgeous blogger bestie, Hollie (from Pretty Big Butterflies, of course) and I took a drive to Bournemouth for a fun filled weekend of shopping, outfit post taking and a special shoot with BGP Magazine! We both got off work as early as possible on the Friday and Hollie drove us to Bournemouth in her fancy new-ish car. I love a good a good road trip and one filled with laughter and gossip is even better - we didn't even have the radio on - that's how much fun we were having.
We arrived late in the evening to our hotel, the Travelodge Bournemouth Seafront and ordered pizza to munch on while we watched the Celebrity Stand Up to Cancer episode of Gogglebox which was both hilarious and so sad all at once.
We woke up super early on Saturday so that we could go to the seafront and take outfit photos - it was beautiful but very foggy so our photos have lots of misty ambiance - that's the look we were going for.
We ate a quick breaky in the hotel, did our pictures and then headed to Poole, the town next door, so that I could finally visit the very first Lush shop - something that has been on my list of things to do in the UK for a very long time, and given my imminent departure, a very well timed activity!
The shop was so charming and welcoming and as always the staff were wonderful. I snagged a box designed by Vivienne Westwood of Showder - Lush's shower powder - its so lovely and exfoliates your skin - it also goes from blue to purple once it gets wet - I love it!
Next, we had coffee at a cute hipster-esque spot on the high street and walked to the sea front to check out the harbour. The day was lovely, a bit humid but the weather was still nice.
We walked into town further and had a good shop in New Look and Primark before heading home to relax before dinner.
We went out to a local spot for dinner where we were pleasantly surprised at how nice our food was and spent the meal chit chatting about our day and how excited we were to see the BGP girls the next day for our shoot.
We headed back to the hotel to watch QVC and giggle about all the silly things they have for sale and how wonderful the presenters are at playing "interested".
Our shoot was at 10am on Sunday, so we got up early, showered and dressed and headed down for breakfast in the hotel, it was really nice not having to sort out a spot for breakfast with the busy morning that we had ahead of us.
Our shoot went really well and we can't wait to see the shots so stay tuned for those!
Hollie and I had so much fun and it really was a great weekend away! I am going to miss her so much when I go, so these fun weekends away are a nice way to make loads of memories to last us while we are apart once I go to Canada.... but then of course she will have to come visit me! :)
