Vide Dressing Totally Swag

Hello! (Français en rose italics)

This past Sunday, 5 bloggers, including myself held a huge clothing sale here in Paris. We emptied our closets and sold our gently used items to friends, other bloggers and anyone who showed up. It was a great success and also really fun!

Not only was it a blast to spend the day with some of my most favourite people in Paris but my wonderful friends got together at the end and surprised me with a goodbye drink since I am leaving Paris in a week. I was so touched and tears were shed. I am going to miss all of you so much, but I promise I will come back and visit often! I feel so lucky to have met all of you and don`t think Paris would have been the same without you.

A bientôt!

OOTD! A simple scarf (blog maintenant en français aussi!)

Hello my lovelies! (Français en italics rose!)

I am back with a more serious outfit, if I can call it that. I am not a very serious person so anything I wear is usually influenced directly by my silliness- you can probably see the silly faces I am making in some of the photos below. I purchased this scarf from Asos last season and had yet to find an outfit that I like it with. I was feeling very inspired by all the floral prints I am seeing on other blogs so I decided to pull it out and match with a pair of floral wedges that I adore. I really like the shades and pastels mixed with florals and I like when there is a bit of pop to a simple outfit like I am wearing here.

Makeup - Coastal Scents 88 colour palette, Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara, Biguine Marilyn Monroe eyeliner

Scarf/Écharpe - Asos

Cardigan- UNIQLO

Top/Veste - GAP

Jeans - Second Denim ( I LOVE THESE JEANS!)

Espadrilles - No name/ Sans marque (bought/acheter Rue St.Denis, Paris)

 Merci !

OOTD: I want to ride my bicycle!

Hello lovelies!

Here is an outfit that I wore on a day where I really wasn't sure if the weather people were telling the truth. It was supposed to be 20 degrees in Paris but I was sure that in the evening while I was out, it would go back down, so I pulled out the flannel shirt! As I have said before. plaid flannel shirt are one of my favourite things - it's definitely the Canadian in me trying to get out.

Shirt - Evans

Skirt - H&M

Tights - Spanx

Cloth Bag - The Nottinghill Shopping Bag (Bought on Portobello Road in London)

Sneakers - no name (8 euro cheap shoes)

Thanks for stopping by!!

As my time in Paris comes to an end...

Hi everyone!

Today, someone said to me that they were checking into tickets for the Foire de Paris, which if you have been reading for a year will ring a bell. It's a big exhibition show in Paris in May. I almost fell over when I came to the realization that my time in Paris, the one year mark, is coming up very fast. The sun is out in Paris, it is beautiful, and some days are feeling like Summer and the evenings like Spring. All the things I loved about Paris when I first arrived are coming back like a flood- the hustle and bustle, patios filled with people, and music. I had a couple of months where I felt down on Paris and I think it was definitely the winter blues. Now that it is nice out again, and that I can open the window in my room things are feeling lovely. I am trying not to wish the time away, spending as much time out with my friends as I can, because I know I will miss them once I am gone. Of course, like I assured them, I will be back to visit.

I've been out and about with my new camera taking shots of whatever I can, random things I like, this orange bicycle for example. I am trying to learn the camera works and what it can do, but for the moment I am a bit useless with it. It needs time.

I'm sure there are plenty of you that I have not told about what I am doing after I leave Paris, so here is the plan.

At the end of April, no for sure date as of yet, I will be leaving to walk the El Camino (St Jacques de Compostella) pilgrimage which is about 800 km depending on the route and brings me from France into Spain. This should take me about a month, perhaps a little over. I am anxious to get started and can't wait to see what it brings and whether I am capable of finishing it in one piece. I felt it was really time for a new challenge, and I wanted to travel by foot so  that I can gain an idea of what a long distance feels like. We are so fortunate to have planes, cars, trains and all that, that I think we forget that we also have legs.

I haven't decided on my route yet, but when I do I will post it here. I will continue to post as I walk, and will do my best to keep you updated on what I am up to along the way.

After Spain, I will be popping back through Paris for a night and then heading via the Chunnel to London! I am on the hunt for a room now and will be visiting in a couple of weeks for job interviews and all that good stuff. I can't wait to get there and become a Londonian (I'm really not sure if that is the term, but I like it!)

My life is about to take an enormous leap forward and I am trying to prepare myself, but all the while, I don't want to wish my time in Paris away.

I had a lovely little musical experience on the metro the other night and thanks to my handy iphone I caught a recording for you. There was a guy and a girl standing on seats opposite each other, one with an accordion and then other a clarinet. They sang and danced and said many times they wanted no money and that it was purely for us to enjoy. It was lovely, and another reason why I will always love Paris.

FTF Blog Event 4/6: Who I am

Hiya!

I am so excited to be participating in a blog event, this will be my first when it comes to online events, and I think it's a really fantastic idea. There is a theme, and this time around it is  United Nations (Contra Unus) and a telling of how where you come from influences you. What I like best about this event is that each person interprets the theme as they like.  I have decided to do photo collages that I think sum up a lot about me.

I encourage you to check out Full Time Fabulous to see all the other entries and to read  the blog!

Here is my entry:

Let me introduce myself for those who don't know me already. I am Canadian, from Toronto actually, living in Paris but soon moving to London. I have the travel bug, I can't stay put. While I am in Europe, I am like a sponge, trying to absorb all the culture and experiences that I can. Paris is know for "la mode" and I took that to heart, and am now more of a fashion addict than I was when I was back in Canada. I am Canadian at heart, sporting my stereotypical plaid shirts on a weekly basis, saying sorry to everyone, often for things I haven't done, and I am proud to say that I speak both national languages, English and French. The more I am away from home, the more I learn to appreciate it and to be thankful for all the wonderful things I have there.

(This little photos collage above shows 4 outfits of the day posted in the past on my blog and how many kilometers I am away from home at the moment based on what is calculated from the Eiffel Tower.)

A silly Facebook application told me that I have visited somewhere upwards of 9% of the globe, and I am looking to send that number into the double digits, and maybe one day hit 100%.

For now I go where I can, when I can.

(My little photo collage above shows me lying over a waterfall in Laos, lanterns in South Korea, The Great Wall of China, and a beautiful secluded beach in Thailand)

I truly believe that who you are and how you are is the product of what you have experienced. I like to think that we can all be humbled by something no matter how we grew up or what privileges we have been given. As a Canadian, I feel privileged to have an open door to almost anywhere in the world and am often welcomed with open arms. My dad has spent my entire life traveling back and forth from Asia, mostly China and Taiwan, and I think his tales of abroad are what shaped and developed my enormous curiosity for the world away. From my travels, I have always been able to find a common thing with someone I have met on the road, proving to me that we truly are all the same in some way and that our experiences shape us and mold us into who we are.

I would like to say a big thanks to Full Time Fabulous for creating this event! This post was really fun to create and I look forward to doing the next one!

Thanks for reading and come back soon!
