Checking Out in Style

Hi everyone!
I am back in the UK after a brief visit back home to Toronto to see family and friends. I know it's been quiet on here but I do have loads of outfit posts backed up and ready to share with you so stay tuned this week so I can show you those.
Today's outfit is one that I am totally in love with and it's one that made me feel sophisticated and fancy.

After the wonderful blogger evening with navabi last month, I received my favourite piece from their new collection (The navabi Collection), this incredible tartan wool blend checked coat. It's light but warm and makes me feel so stylish.

I paired it with another piece from navabi, this time from the designer Zizzi who I love - this dress has a great print and a cool cut out back which means I can wear it from day to night super easily.

I chose my pointed leather boots from New Look for this look as I was kicking through the fall leaves on my way to take photos, and simple black tights from Primark. I highly recommend that you check out their new Fuller Figure range ( at a size 20/22 I am wearing a large and find them roomy).

To tie the look together, I wore my new maple wood watch, which felt very fitting amongst all the leaves. I love this watch that I was very kindly given by JordWatch, a company in the US who do beautiful wooden watches with different materials, like mine which has a rose gold face. It makes checking the time a bit more fancy, which is always nice.

This outfit was perfect for a Canadian fall day where the temperature is often a little colder than most of us plan for. I felt warm but cool and really put together. This is going to be one of my go-to looks for Fall and Winter that is both office friendly but also after work chic too!

Checking out Xandres Xline at House of Fraser

Good morning everyone!
It's Tuesday and I am back after a long weekend of absolute insanity. I live on the Notting Hill Carnival route which is borderline too much even for the most avid music lovers. I've had two endless days of sound systems blaring below my windows and the carnival passing along the other side of the building, so after going out and dancing and enjoying it for a bit, coming home wasn't as relaxing as I had hoped.

One thing I was so grateful for, was my gorgeous new gold rain coat. For those of you not in London, it rained a lot this weekend and almost all of Sunday, so whilst out checking out the happenings in my hood, rain boots and a good coat were important - umbrellas were a no- go with upwards of a million people, you would stab someone in the eye if you weren't careful.

I was very kindly gifted this rain coat by House of Fraser and when I received it, I was really intrigued as I had never heard of the brand before but was immediately excited by the colour and when I flipped through the lookbook that arrived with the coat, I fell in love with so many lovely things. The brand is called Xanders Xline and this coat is called the X-immy.

It's a lightweight gold parka style coat with nice big pockets and it actually keeps you dry. I gave it a proper test run this weekend as I mentioned above and arrived home dry and happy. The hood is also the right size and doesn't block your view  ahead or blow off the top of your head so that's a nice bonus too!

This is the first time that I have been out in the pouring rain in a while and not been drenched so and on top of that I felt lovely and fashionable - how exciting! I think this coat will be a welcome addition to my fall wardrobe - bring on the rain... ok maybe not just yet!
