Dressing for Work with House of Fraser

Hey everyone!
So I survived my first week in my new office and I must say that adjusting to corporate life is not as easy as I thought. I have had to really think about my wardrobe everyday and so now I am on the hunt for office friendly outfits, in particular dresses, because they are my favourite, but that also allow me to still feel young and fresh. The chance of me wearing a pant suit is slim, as I just don't think they suit me so I like to stick to corporate friendly pieces that have fun colours and prints so I still feel like me. I thought I would put together a little wish list post of some of my favourite wants at the moment. I'm working with House of Fraser, as I love how I can find plenty of my favourite brands in one place, but also that there is a wide variety of sizing (and really good sales... shhh... our little secret!).

Linea Printed Woven Shirt Dress - I love this dress because I think it's fun and has a bit of disco vibe, but would also translate well into Fall with leggings, which is always a bonus!
Linea Flora PU Skirted Dress - This dress is just all around amazing, mainly because I can't resist a bit of pleather. I would wear this with epic statement jewelry and some fun flats or heels.
Elvi Water Colour Print Dress-  I love the flow of this dress, along with the delicate floral pattern. I also think the neckline is cute and different, making the dress a bit more special.
Studio 8 Otto Dress - I love the pattern and cut of this dress. It's both office appropriate but would also be cute for drinks out in the evening - a perfect transition piece!

Do you work somewhere corporate? I would love for you to share ideas of your favourite outfits and your go to pieces that you can always count on. I feel like I'm building an entire new wardrobe!

Dressing in Dresses for the Holidays

It's that time of year again - the holidays are upon us and it feels like every other evening is another exciting party. I thought I would put together a wish list of fun party dresses for every event leading up to Christmas and New Years eve.  I am officially heading back to Canada permanently on December 7th so will have plenty of holiday parties to attend there too!

I have featured Asos, Navabi and Yours Clothing as they all have a great selection of dresses in every price range. I have found that this year I have needed both super fancy and some more casual and versatile looks depending on where I am going out or if I have to dash there after work.
You can click directly on the pictures of the dresses to find out more or purchase them.

I love the first dress, with the black and silver detailing and fun princess skirt - with a faux fur stole or bolero jacket to keep warm this is perfect for fancy soiree with an after party.

The second dress, a lavender sequin mini dress, is so fun and sparkly and finally is veering away from the typical mermaid turquoise sequins that we have had so much of over the last couple of Winters. I'm thinking this would be perfect for glitzy New Years Eve out.

Next up, is this amazing kimono sleeved Asos dress which is like a mega glammed up version of the last dress. A sophisticated yet fun and sparkly dress for a Friday or saturday night out.

The next two dresses, one red and one black and blue flocked skater styles are great to wear with tights and heels or leggings and flats depending on the occasion. I have the odd lunch do that these would be perfect for!

I love this dark blue sequin number from Asos - the sexy slit up the side is both fun and an excellent opportunity to get your legs out, even during winter time.

I chose this striped red and black dress from Navabi because I like that it looks comfortable and would look great with a chunky knit scarf, tights and boots - the perfect outfit for an afternoon at the pub or over at a friend's for hot chocolate.

Last of all, is this gorgeous Truly You dress from Asos which has a beautiful floral overlay. I just love this dress and think it's a chic and delicate way of dressing up without a need for floor length gowns and over the top accessories.

So tell me, what are you looking out for this season to wear to parties? I can't decided what I will get next out of this list - they are all so gorgeous!

New Look Haul continued...

Moving on! Again, in the New Look change rooms, I am wearing the denim jeggings and an adorable nautical inspired cardigan with little clasp closures.

Next I tried this one but for some reason didn't take photos of it on. Anyways, It's a denim shirt with lace detail on the shoulders. This one I didn't buy, but thought it was really awesome and wanted to share it with you anyways!

It's longer and comes to about my midthigh - I am 5'5" to give you an idea of how big it is. I am also big in the bust area and it does up with extra space. Also, I had room in the arms too. This piece is from the regular New Look collection and is a size 18 UK.

Black Jeggings with a nautical snap detail on the bottom of the leg - these I bought and I cannot wait to wear!!!

The ever popular Inspire Bird Dress from New Look

And that's it from the New Look Haul in terms of clothes... I did cave and buy a pair of sandals but I will share those with you when I take photos of my next outfit! Thanks for looking! Can't wait to hear what you think! If New Look is listening, come to Canada, we need you!
