OOTD - Trending Accessories!

Good morning friends!
So this morning I have a really quick post that I had to share with you simply because I am obsessed with these two new bits that I got from New Look recently. I attended an awesome little morning shopping event at New Look Oxford Street and whilst trying not to lose my head, I calmly purchased this amazing hat and silver plimsoles (among other things) that are now officially wardrobe staples.
I'm sure you will see plenty of these gorgeous things in upcoming posts, as I want to see just how much wear I can get out of a felt floppy hat - it must be done.
I love that the 70s trend is back and that loose flowing dressed are in again too - I love having the options and variation on cuts for the upcoming Spring/Summer seasons and the boho colours like burnt orange are a real favourite of mine too.
Here is a quick outfit shot of what I wore to Portobello market last Saturday - we had delicious coffee, and vegan treats followed by slow meandering around all the tourists up the market towards Notting Hill.
Here I am waiting for Hugh Grant at his blue door...

Striped Top - Target (Old)
Cardi - Primark
Leggings - Primark
Dress - Asos (old)

What trend are you most looking forward to wearing this season?
Any new favourites?

Freshly Printed in George at Asda!

Good morning and happy Saturday everyone!
Today I bring you some of my most favourite printed items ever. George at Asda has really knocked this season out of the park because not only are the pieces cute and fresh but the cuts and sizing are bang on too.

I am wearing a UK20 in each item and I would say it is all true to size and comfortable.
I love these lemon trousers, from the Limoncello collection, so much because they are black so don't feel too wild ( I can still wear them to work) but still have the fun print. I would say its a mid rise s comfortable and they don't creep down.

Next up is this jersey lemon peplum top. I am obsessed with this lemon print as it's just so sweet and this peplum top with bow back amplifies the sweetness even more. I think it looks great with jeans and sneakers and really jazzes up what could be a really simple outfit.

Next up is this gorgeous scenic top with ties a the arms and a relaxed fit. I would say that if you are considering this top and want to maximise it's wear, order a size up and it will fit more like a tunic and will be amazing for the beach.
I attended the George at Asda press day not long ago where they showcased some of the amazing bits and bobs that will be appearing soon for Summer and you should all be super excited. The home wears are ultra cute and trendy and the clothing is right on trend with boho styles and cute prints to match.

Stay tuned for a giveaway this week with something lemony inside.

How To Dress For A Chic Summer Holiday In Italy

Hello everyone!
As we all well know, Italy is one of the most fashionable countries in the world. It has given us some of the world’s best fashion designers including Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Valentino Garavani and many, many others. Fashion runs through the veins of the country; everyone takes great pride in their appearance. They have this custom called “La Passeggiata” where, as the sun sets, the locals take an evening stroll along the main streets of the city. In reality, it’s just an opportunity for them to show off their glad rags; turning the streets into giant catwalks. Needless to say, it can feel a bit intimidating when packing for a trip to Italy. But fear not fellow fashionistas! When packing for your holiday to Italy this spring or summer, follow these tips, and you will look right at home in this fashion capital.

9896932844_5c110f63f1_z.jpg

Italian ladies don’t overdo it when it comes to their style. They tend to wear simple, elegant outfits (that probably cost them an arm and a leg!). To get the luxurious look for less, bring a few simple but stylish dresses that really flatter your shape and that you feel amazing in. Add glamour to these garments through your accessories. Silk scarves, jewellery, hats, shoes, etc. will do the trick. This is also an efficient way to pack as you can wear the dresses more than once, but mix your look up with your smaller items.

12209725373_8faaa85306_z.jpg

For the sake of keeping cool in the heat and because they are flattering on everyone, opt for materials and styles that are light and loose. Summer kaftans and floaty maxi dresses are both stylish and practical options. Cities that are located inland, like Romeo and Juliet’s hometown Verona, are especially hot during the summer months. So you’ll want plenty of lovely loose-fitting garments to keep you looking and feeling cool. Verona is one of the most fashionable cities in Italy to strut your stuff in so check this site out if you are looking for accommodation in this beautiful city.

Another thing you will notice on your holiday in Italy is that everyone’s clothes look flawless. This is a difficult look to pull off while you are living out of a suitcase. However, if you use the iron in your hotel room and hang your garments up as soon as you arrive, you can also have impeccable looking garments.

6899689366_52984cae12_z.jpg

You will see many chic Italian ladies effortlessly clip-clopping along the cobbled streets in heels. If you are like me and you find walking in heels a struggle even on flat ground, you’ll want to find a comfortable but just as chic alternative. Flip-flops are great, but try to find a pair that are a step up in terms of glamour from the ones you wear on the beach. Personally, I think elegant leather sandals on a pair of beautifully manicured feet looks just as chic as a pair of heels.

What are your style tips for a summer holiday in Italy?

Gettin' Jilsen With It...

Hello everyone!
Today I am bringing you a review from a company that I have absolutely fallen in love with.
I will be the first to admit that having never owned a proper pair of leather boots, I could never really appreciate the difference and good reasoning for buying them.
I can safely say that I now know what the fuss is about and if you don't own a good pair of leather boots you should get on it ASAP.
Jilsen is a company from the Netherlands that ships to the UK and sell wide calf leather boots in several sizes. The leather is high quality, the fit is great and the styles are varied and bang on trend - they even do colours like  blue and red. I was really pleased when they contacted me because I wear boots several times a week and have had trouble finding really good ones that fit my calves.

I am wearing the Amber boots in black leather. I wear a size 48 calf and it is perfect. The boots are sturdy and my foot doesn't slide or move, yet they are so comfortable and haven't rubbed or given me issues anywhere, which is unheard of in almost all of the boots I have owned.

The heel is just high enough and makes my legs look fab when trotting around without making my legs or feet sore. Check out the Jilsen website as they have loads of different heels and flat boots for those that want no heel at all.

What I am wearing:
Cardigan - Primark
Dress - George for Asda (old collection)
Boots - Amber by Jilsen*

Apologies for the less clear photo - I am in the process of looking for a new camera as mine is struggling with age. The boots have a decorative side zipper on the outside and a functional zipper on the inside of the leg.

From the moment that I received the boots I haven't taken them off - I love them and they look great with so many things!
Thanks Jilsen!

Blogger Challenge - Denim Five Way with Curvissa!

Good morning lovelies!
So I was asked by Curvissa to participate in a denim five way this month, so myself and four other bloggers will be styling an item from their varied denim collection.
Because the small child that I once was lives on in me, I went straight for this super cute denim pinafore dress.

Everything about this dress reminds me of the 90s and being young and free.
I styled it with a striped shirt, black tights, metallic open trainers and some fun accessories.

I then decided that this dress makes me feel great and took lots of fun and energetic photos.
The fit is true to size as I am wearing my usual 20 and doesn't have much stretch so keep that in mind when ordering your size. If you are big hips/bum/thighs, go up a size.

I have put a couple of badges on and then wore my slap wrist watch to officially send me back to the 90s. I am so pleased that this trend is back and can think of plenty of ways that I can wear this dress again.
A simple change of top and some cute flats, and this look could be less casual - even the addition of a blazer could jazz it up depending on the occasion.

Ironing out the details...

Denim Pinafore - Curvissa
Top - Target (Old)
Tights - Spanx
Trainers - Primark (Still available at time of posting)
I give this dress 5 stars - for cuteness and versatility!

Now that you have endured all of my silliness, you should go and visit all the other lovely bloggers who participated in this challenge:

Travelling to Barcelona

This post may contain affiliate links
If you are keeping an eye out for cheap flights at the moment, you may be wondering when the best time to travel is. Right now could be a great time to pack up and go to Spain as flights are not overpriced at the moment. If you can spare a few days off work this month, Barcelona is definitely a great city to explore. It’s not too cold, and there is plenty to do to give you a well earned break out of the office.

Packing for Spain is simple. You know that the weather will be warmer than at home, so the heavy jumpers can definitely stay behind! Most people fly into Spain these days because the cost of flights is great. It’s only a short hop from the UK so you can travel pretty light and still look stylish. Pack a few sun dresses and a hat just in case you’re not used to the stronger sun at this time of year.

Barcelona is steeped in some extraordinary history, and yet it feels completely cosmopolitan and modern when you get here. One of the best things about this huge city in Spain is the shopping. There are boutiques and malls, markets and chain stores everywhere you turn, so there is definitely something for everyone. The best thing is, the fashion is quite different from what you would find back in London so you can come home with a great new look. Watch out for a few weird variations in size though. Try before you buy!

There are plenty of tours available, but they don’t tend to come cheap. If you get to see it, the Calatrava tower is quite the feat of engineering and design. If you love the modern side of Barcelona, you will also love Contemporary Art at the MNAC. Barcelona really is a quirky mix of old and new, but it is done with such bravura and style.
Eating out in Barcelona is so easy to do. There are countless restaurants in the city, and they can all offer you traditional Spanish dishes or something more like home. They tend to be situated pretty close to shops so you can easily pop in with all your shopping bags and enjoy a really good lunch or dinner. Some of the shopping hours can be a little different here, so if you have your eye on a particular store or restaurant, look up the trading hours first.

Accommodation is plentiful in the city. You may want to check out websites like HouseTrip.com and pick out a city apartment to stay in. Apartments are great alternatives to hotels because they give you the freedom to live like you would at home. They are usually situated right in the city centre to make walking out into the heart of things really easy. Most importantly, they give you a chance to prepare some of your own meals and keep to your budget.

Green with Elvi...

Good afternoon my gorgeous readers!
Tuesday, although a little grey outside, was still St Patricks Day, so happy days to all you Irish readers!
I am not Irish, however, still wore green because it's nice to be festive all the same.
This outfit comes from Elvi's new collection and it is lush!

Elvi makes gorgeous clothing that is colourful and interesting but also affordable, high quality and best of all work appropriate!
When I wore this outfit to work, everyone was complementing me on the beautiful colour and cut.

I am 5 foot 5 inches and the trousers are a bit long on me so keep that in mind if you are shorter - you will need to hem them. I am wearing a size 20.
The fabric is amazing and stretchy but also snug and comfortable at the same time.

The green asymmetrical top is so cute and the fabric has a nice weight and cut.

If you haven't tried Elvi, they are a great company offering true to size plus size clothing.
I especially love their tunics - so check those out too!

Here is what I am wearing:
Scarf - Unknown
Flats - Primark

Happy St Paddy's Day!

UNCONDITIONAL BODY BEAUTIFUL - PART 3: MY JOURNEY ON MY LEGS

It's March and I can hardly believe that we have reached this leg of our journey... see what I did there? This month's theme for the #UnconditionalBodyBeautiful is all about legs. I have learned so many things from my little legs and I am really pleased that I finally have a chance to tell you all the story.

As a kid and young adult, I never had an issue with my legs, I never looked down on them and thought negatively about them. I don't remember feeling self conscious about them in shorts when I was in my teens either and I thank my lucky stars that I wasn't a child or teen in this day and age, with all this nonsense of needing a thigh gap.
When I got a bit older, I'll say of university age and I gained more weight, I noticed my thighs got a bit lumpy and less smooth and began to feel a little more self conscious about them. I wore longer shorts and skirts and every outfit became a knee length outfit.

I am telling you about my outfit choices because it is an important detail for the next part of the story. As most of you know, I moved from Canada to Paris, France in May of 2010 and stayed for a year. Prior to moving to London, I had got it in my head that I wanted to accomplish something big and prove to myself that I was capable of following it through. I set off on a train in May of 2011 to a small town at the base of the Pyrenees mountains in France called St Jean Pied de Port. From there, I began a 500 mile (800Km) walk all the way over the mountains and into Spain, on the pilgrim route called El Camino (the way).
It took me 33 days with 2 days rest to complete and to this day I wish that I had taken more time, as there was nothing like the journey. I had not trained and didn't have the best equipment but even still, managed to complete it, after only breaking down once at the half way point and considering giving up.
Why am I tell you this, you might ask?
Because it was those very same lumpy thighs that carried my body for those 33 days. I wish that I could have had them out in the sun more and showed them the way, but thanks to the ever present threat of chub rub, I kept them in capris. Purely for comfort, this was probably for the best but still, it would have been nice.

Fast forward a couple of years, an older, bigger,  more mature and body confident version of myself is sitting in a tattoo parlour, about to wage war on the same thighs that I somehow have neglected to love, despite them carrying me all this time.
First, I began with a sailor pinup on the right thigh and even to this day she is still missing a few details, but being half way accross the world from your tattoo artist makes it hard to finish it. Next, less than a year later, I started on the left thigh, where I had a distinguished portrait of my beloved 18 year old chinchilla, Kenobi done by Amy Savage, here in the UK.
I don't want to imply that tattoos are a fix or an instant body confidence booster, but the day that I got tattoos on my thighs was the day that my mind caught up with my body. All of a sudden, I realised that if these thighs could carry me everyday, and be an important place holder for to works of permanent art then they deserve to be loved and on show.
Since then, I am back to wearing shorts, I worry a lot less about what others think and I love getting my legs out in the Summer.
Without sounding too preachy, if there is a part of you that you don't love, try and think about what that part of your body does for you, what it accomplishes and how well it does it.
I love my legs and am grateful that they are there to carry me through life.
So there you have it, the story of my legs.

*Why Staying in a Spa Hotel is a Wonderful Idea*

Some people go on vacation and search for a budget hotel or something on the lower end of the scale. However, staying in a spa hotel could seriously take your vacation to the next level. There are plenty of reasons this is a good idea; just take a look at a few we’ve put together here!
Relax After a Long Day of Exploring
When on vacation, exploring all day long is the norm. Staying at a spa hotel is the perfect opportunity to relax after a long day of exploring. You can take a swim, chill out in the jacuzzi, or have a spa treatment. You’ll then be ready to do it all again the next day!
Get 5 Star Treatment
At spa hotels, the staff usually pride themselves on the treatment they offer. You’ll more than likely feel like a celebrity and get 5 star treatment from all of the staff. By just reading a few reviews online you’ll get an idea of who offers fantastic treatment.
Experience Treatments from Different Cultures
If your spa hotel is the Luxury spa in Muscat, for instance, you may be able to experience treatments from different cultures. Every country will perform treatments differently. You may never get another chance to get a back massage in, let’s say, a Swedish spa hotel. A great opportunity to enjoy spa treatments like a local.
Scenery
Have you ever spotted a spa hotel with bad scenery? I didn’t think so. There’s no such thing. All spas are surrounded by gorgeous flowers, plants, and gardens. There’s nothing better than looking out of your window to that every day. You can even take the time to explore the scenery and take pictures.
Gorgeous Decor
Spa hotels are also known for having gorgeous decor. If you want to live in luxury on your vacation, this is the way to do it. All spa hotels will have a different kind of theme, but they’ll all be wonderfully luxurious. Some may be more modern, others more traditional, but all of them will blow your mind.
6886258751_a8318062ee_z.jpg
Excellent Facilities
Want a hotel with the best facilities? You won’t be disappointed at a spa hotel. They’re sure to have everything you could possibly want, and more while you’re on vacation. It isn’t possible to leave one of these places feeling disappointed.
Great Food
Finally, spa hotels nearly always serve great food. You can usually get 3 course a la carte meals served to you for a good price if you’re a guest at the hotel. You’ll probably want to try other restaurants too, but make sure you eat at your spa.
Are you convinced that this is a good idea yet? Leave a comment!

#FrenchCurves - Le Crop Top

Hello!
So it's the 16th of the month once again and I am so excited that Gaelle chose the theme of Crop Tops! I have been in love with this trend since it made its come back and have so many in my closet.
Today I chose to wear one that I have never featured on my blog but it's a really good one. I love this crop top because it's so glittery and wonderful and so I had to pair it with nothing but crazy and fun accessories and shoes.
Don't be afraid to wear a crop top - this look is for everybody, so go out and get one and show off that mid-drift!

Bonjour!
Gros Bisous!

I am wearing/ Je porte:
Crop Top - Primark
Skirt/Jupe - New Look
Necklace/ Collier - Black Heart Creatives

A Little Spring In My Step....

 Good morning my lovely friends!
Today I am sharing an outfit that is totally not my usual style but that I have come to love throughout the day of wearing it.
I think you will all know this familiar H&M princess midi skirt and since buying it, it's been a real staple in my wardrobe. Although my preferred pairing is with a crop top, like in my first post here, that just isn't work appropriate, or so I have been told. So I had to come up with something else.

I attended the George at Asda press day last week and was very kindly gifted some items from the current range and this beautiful white top was one of them. It feels and looks gorgeous and the embellished collar looks like one that belongs on a much more expensive top.
The entire outfit made me feel sophisticated but light and Spring-like.

I saw these little flats in Primark and now have a very strong urge to return and buy other prints and colours as they are so comfortable but also the sweetest print and shape.
I used to be a pointy shoe hater, but I am no more... they are clearly the way forward.

I won't forget to mention my epic new silver purse, also from Primark. It holds everything and anything and is so shiny it that you can almost see yourself in it.

What I am wearing:
Skirt - H&M
Cardigan - Primark
Flats - Primark
Purse - Primark

So there you have it - an outfit that will hopefully inspire you all to get out your spring attire and get dressed up. If not now, then when?!

What are you most looking forward to wearing, now that the sun is peaking it's head out?

xxToodalooKatie

*I would like to add a special thanks to my gorgeous photographer Tara who is always wonderful and tolerant with my silly moves and smarmy faces. Check out her blog here!

The day that pugs stole my heart...

Hello!
We have made it to hump day and thank goodness for that!
Today I am sharing a new favourite outfit with you because it involves pugs and fake fur which are two essentials for happiness as far as I am concerned.
I love my orange fake fur stole and decided that I better wear it a little more often given that Spring is on it's way.

How adorable is my little pug belt - he is perfect. I love something quirky like this that ties an outfit together but also feels very me.

What I am wearing:
Black Top - Primark
Fake Fur Stole - Top Shop (last year) - Similiar
Clutch - Primark
Flats - Primark

Have you dressed up for no reason lately?
Share photos of your favourite outfits with my on Instagram or Twitter!
